District 5 is proud to partner with Tidal Babe, a program of Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank and Cincinnati's only nonprofit period bank, for our NAIDM Service project. We will be collecting period supplies and diapers to support women in the Greater Cincinnati Area during the meeting. If you can't bring an item or would also like to donate to support Sweet Cheeks and Tidal Babe, just click on the donate button above.
COVERD Greater Cincinnati works through two main programs in the Cincinnati area to help those in need get the basic hygiene products they require to live a happy, healthy, and dignified life. Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank was COVERD's first program and began in 2015. Sweet Cheeks partners with 52 local social service agencies to distribute free diapers to approximately 4,500 low-income families while raising awareness of the basic health need for diapers. The program has distributed over 5.2 million clean diapers since it's start.
Tidal Babe Period Bank was launched in 2018 to directly address period poverty -- the same mothers who needed diapers for their babies also asked for period supplies. Tidal Babe works through 44 social service agencies and 7 local schools to distribute free period supplies to menstruators who need them most. The program has distributed over 25,000 period supply kits since it's start. To best serve those in need, COVERD accepts monetary and product donations, including baby diapers and pull-ups, adult diapers, and period supplies (pads, liners, and tampons).
