The Zonta Club of Cincinnati was organized on April 6, 1935 with Mary Crowley, the first president of Zonta, and Amy Pace the first secretary. At the inaugural banquet, Lona Shepperd placed a stork on the celebratory cake citing ‘Long may the Club live and progress.’

Zonta International is a leading global organization of professionals empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy.

Founded in 1919 in Buffalo, New York, the headquarters is located in Oak Brook, Illinois. Zonta International has 1,249 clubs with 30,000 members in 67 countries.

Zonta International is divided into 30 districts around the world.

The Zonta Club of Cincinnati is located in District 5, comprised of 17 clubs in 3 states (Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia).
